Top Tips To Beat the Queues at Alton Towers

1. Single Rider Queues at Alton Towers

A Single Rider Queue is a FREE METHOD to shorten your queue time by allowing individual riders to use up available space on ride carriages.

Single Rider Queues are generally available on:

AirNemesisSonic SpinballThirteenOblivion

For more information & to find out where we feel Single Rider Queues are most effective, go to Tips to Beat the Queues at Alton Towers.

2. Early Ride Time at Alton Towers

Early Ride Time gives you an extra hour before the main opening times on selected rides.  This is well worth having as, if used well, allows you to ride many of the main attractions with minimal queues.

Early Ride Time is available to:

Annual PassholdersTickets purchased online at Alton TowersAlton Towers resort guests

For more information on rides included within Early Ride Time, go to Early Ride Time; your queries answered.

Guide to Alton Towers 2011

3. Fastrack Tickets at Alton Towers

A fastrack ticket allows you an opportunity to buy your way out of the queues.  Tickets can be purchased online or through Sales & Information kiosks around the park, (although only a limited supply available each day of course!)

A fastrack ticket is in addition to your entrance charges to Alton Towers.  There are a number of different packages available depending upon the rides you wish to fastrack.  For more information, go to Fastrack Tickets for Alton Towers.

4. Choose your day carefully

There are plenty of off peak days at Alton Towers where the queues are significantly shorter!  Quieter days take account of the weather, school holidays, days of the week & even school trip season.  For more information go to Best Days to Go to Alton Towers.

5. Get There Early

The car park, monorail & ticket booths open significantly earlier than the theme park.  If you have parked up & purchased  tickets before the park opens, you are ready to go the moment the gates open to the general public!

6. Make Use of the Electronic Boards

The electronic boards around the park give accurate queues times of many of the main rides and worth keeping an eye on.  They will also let you know of any ride closures.

7. Make your way to the back of the park & work anti-clockwise!

Many people start the rides from the front of the park and work clockwise around the theme park.  To avoid the queues, it’s worth heading directly to Forbidden Valley or the Dark Forest and work towards the front of the park.

8. It’s the queue that shuts not the ride!

Not many people realise it’s the queue that shuts at the advertised closing time not the ride.  If you stay to the end, this gives you another chance at the main rides with generally shorter queue times.

Let us know if you have any more tips 7 we’ll pass them on.
